I could hardly rest at La Riva Hotel because street noise and loud music came through the poor sound insulation. The rooms were badly cleaned and nowhere near an acceptable hygiene standard. The hotel showed no regard for guest comfort and didn’t meet even basic expectations.

My confirmed reservation was cancelled with the claim that my card was invalid, which wasn’t true. Staff wouldn’t put me through to management, and kept delaying until Booking’s deadline had passed. This was on Shakira concert night, so it strongly looks like the hotel wanted to resell the room at a higher rate. The booking process felt untrustworthy and opaque, and customer service didn’t escalate the issue properly. Tourists should know that even confirmed bookings may not be honored during busy periods. Not recommended at all.

I booked for the night of 28 March, when there was a big concert in aqaba, and they’re trying to make me cancel because prices are going up. They say my card doesn’t work even though I keep updating it. It feels like they’re pushing me to cancel. They used the same trick on a friend, and cancelled both of our reservations.

The rooms were dirty and in bad shape. The girl and the boy at reception were unfriendly and seemed new to hotel work. They didn’t know how to contact guests. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Great spot, just a minute from the beach, with restaurants and cafés nearby.
