La Maison Petra

The room was surprisingly plush for the price, with lovely views, and the family-run hotel’s owner was friendly. The bathroom and toilet were very compact, though, and we could hear noise from adjacent rooms, so the insulation could be better. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and started at 6:30 for an early Petra visit. Staff gave us detailed information at check-in and accommodated our late checkout. Petra’s main gate, the museum, and visitor center are all about a five-minute walk away. A comfortable, efficient option near the entrance and good value for money.

The breakfast was convenient, but I found its quality a little disappointing and think it could be improved. The staff were courteous and professional, and the hotel and rooms were clean and well maintained. The bathroom had excellent facilities, strong water pressure, and piping hot water. There’s an elevator, and a nice lobby seating area where we could wait comfortably. They strictly stick to check-in times, even when rooms are vacant, but will store your bags so you can head to the site. Petra Visitor Center is just a short walk away. There aren’t many restaurants right by the hotel, so I’d eat there or go toward the Visitor Center for more choices.

The staff made up for the power outage one morning, and apologized for it. Mr. Izirath at the front desk, if I have the name right, explained things thoroughly at check-in and arranged our late checkout. Breakfast was fine, with plenty of continental options, and there’s dedicated parking across the road if needed. Our room had great views and all the necessary amenities, though sound carried from neighboring rooms and the insulation could be better. It’s about a five-minute walk to Petra’s main gate, making this a decent, efficient stay for the money.

The rooms feel much fancier and more plush than the price suggests, and the hotel is underrated for its comfort. It’s family-run, with an honest, friendly owner, ample parking, and a delicious, plentiful breakfast from 6:30 if you’re planning an early start in Petra. The museum and visitor center are just a five-minute walk away, so the location is hard to beat. We had an amazing time in Wadi musa. Highly recommend!
