O Beach Hotel & Resort

The rooms and balconies are spacious, and the design made me think this place must once have been lovely for a relaxing stay. There used to be lots of pools, bars, restaurants, and a kids' playground. Now it feels run down, with just one pool and no service around it. There's only one restaurant, too, with a very limited selection compared with what's on the menu and exorbitant surcharges. I've traveled a lot and haven't felt this sorry to see a place with so much potential in this state of decay. I really hope it gets its shine back. I'd love to return.

The beach and Dead Sea access were great, as was the pool. Our room was fine and had shampoo, shower gel, a hair dryer, towels, plenty of pillows and cushions, plus a kettle and tea and coffee. The gate security man was friendly and efficient, and the person who showed us to the room was helpful. The check-in desk guy seemed like he would rather be anywhere else. The restaurant was shocking and spoiled the visit. There was just one other diner, and three or four staff didn't seem to notice us, so after standing awkwardly at the entrance for a few minutes, we seated ourselves. Food took about 35 minutes. The starter arrived with the mains, which wasn't a big deal, but one dish was wrong and stone cold. We asked for the right one. Ten or fifteen minutes later, after my partner had finished eating, they brought the same plate back, left it there, and took one item off when we asked again. By then I didn't want the meal, and said I'd pay only for what had been eaten. They insisted on packing the food to go, but I declined and left. About 15 minutes later a staff member knocked at our room with a supposedly new plate. I said I didn't want it, but they insisted and pushed it into my hand. I gave up and took it inside. It was the same food from the restaurant, still stone cold and unappealing. Five minutes after that, another staff member knocked and shoved a card machine in our face, making us pay for the uneaten dish. I'd hate to see how they handle the busy season. This awful restaurant experience was a really crappy end to our two-week trip to Jordan.

The staff were friendly, and the rooms were spacious. We had access to a private beach, and the breakfast spread was good, though it could be better. It was pretty laid back in early January. I didn't like paying for water when there are no water filter stations. Still, I had a good experience.

We went to O'Beach during a quiet time for tourists, and the staff made us feel special. They were so welcoming, friendly, and always smiling. The place is beautiful, and I highly recommend the hotel. I also left my shoes in the room, and they kept them for me, which was really kind. Thank you! 🌟
