Cleopetra Hotel

The breakfast was very bare-bones. There were no napkins or salt on the tables, just instant coffee, and we had to ask specifically for Turkish coffee. Hot water was nearly nonexistent, so showering after long hikes was difficult. We were traveling as a group, and another unwelcome surprise was that the Wi-Fi password was a political slogan. That felt completely out of place in a hotel. These problems made the stay uncomfortable.

September 2025. I’d stay here again. It’s a no-frills place, but it covers what you need when visiting the area. Mr. Abdalrahman, the young manager, greeted me at check-in and shared plenty of useful tips and itineraries. You can leave a rental car parked on the street, and they’ll provide a tasty breakfast box if you’re heading out to hike Petra at sunrise.

I stayed at Cleopetra Hotel for a long time, and it really started to feel like home. The clean, comfortable rooms were well maintained, and breakfast was always fresh and delicious. It’s close to shops and restaurants, with the Petra Visitor Center only a short walk away. Abdalrahman, the hotel manager, deserves a special mention. He was exceptionally helpful and professional, and could arrange transportation, guided tours and local experiences at high quality and the best prices in town. The rest of the staff were just as kind and welcoming, helping with tours and local advice about Petra and Wadi Musa. Whether you’re there for a few days or longer, it’s good value, with warm hospitality and a true Jordanian experience. I highly recommend Cleopetra Hotel to anyone visiting Petra.

For driving around Jordan, their car travel service is worth recommending. The drivers were careful and friendly.
