The hotel isn't especially modern, but the warmth of the service made my February stay memorable. The owner and some of his family were so kind, and his sons stopped for a chat. They welcomed us with the best tea I've ever had. As we sat together, his wife prepared our room and he spoke with my dad about the practical details. He was always friendly, offered helpful local advice, and even offered us a second night for free, though we had only booked one. The beds were comfortable. You can go up to the roof for a view across the inner city around Petra. I went up at night and enjoyed hearing the mosque prayers. Check the video. If I’m ever near Petra again, I’ll stay here.

The location is the real plus: you’re very close to Petra’s entrance, and there aren't many affordable places this close. The hill is extremely steep, though. The owner was nice, and the guesthouse friendly. Our room was simple, the bathroom very basic, and it was freezing inside during our December stay. We were glad we brought towels since none were provided. The Wi-Fi in room 2, at least, was very poor. Breakfast was simple and good, but very expensive: 12 JD for two omelettes, bread, a little hummus, halawa and marmalade, a few slices of bell pepper, olives and two cups of tea. In Amman, a similar breakfast would probably cost 1 or 2 JD.

I stayed for four nights while visiting Petra and was glad I chose this home. The owner and his son, who look after the place, were friendly and very accommodating. The owner fixed any problems right away. When I told him the shower head wasn't staying in place, he got a new part and replaced it within 30 minutes. Each evening they asked what time I wanted breakfast the next day, and the service was great. They can also prepare dinner for a fee if you need it. The owner really cares about the place. Thank you, Issa and family, for your hospitality.
