The camp, tours, location, food, and clean rooms were all very good, and Abu Shaham looked after us well. I was close to giving it five stars, but a simple problem at the end of my reservation was handled badly and changed my view of the place completely. I hope they address this. It’s a wonderful camp without its employees…

We didn’t stay because, at the last minute, they asked for another 20 JD per person to drive us from the visitor center to camp. The night cost about 35 JD, and our reservation said transportation was included for free. They got angry because we hadn’t booked other services. I booked through Expedia, and the extra charge came by WhatsApp. Beware!

I was really looking forward to shisha and Bedouin music at night, but there were only two shisha flavors and no music. The dinner we paid extra for was good; breakfast was awful, especially the grainy hummus. There are plenty of camps in Wadi rum, and I wouldn’t recommend this one. The power kept cutting out because the solar setup didn’t work well, and switching to a generator took time. Our bubble tent heated up quickly even at night. The AC failed in the middle of the night and again while we were packing in the morning. There’s no fan, and the window can’t be opened, so it got really warm.

The room got far too hot when they turned off the AC in the middle of the night. We barely slept, and it spoiled both the night and our tour in incredible Wadi rum. The service was otherwise amazing, and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I’d recommend Marcana Camp, but ask them about the AC.

The staff were wonderful, and the tent was lovely with air conditioning. The camp sits between mountains in the middle of the desert, giving it a different feel from other places.
