Rum Magic Camp

We left the camp along with other people, and management didn't even seem interested in apologizing. The attitude was awful, hospitality was below zero, and the place felt uncomfortable, tough and unfriendly. The toilets smelled unbelievably bad, the check-in took an hour, and nobody helped with our luggage. It was also so noisy at night. This was the worst camp I've experienced in Wadi Rum, especially given the beautiful surroundings, and I wouldn't recommend it at all. It felt very low class.

The view and facilities were beautiful, and the staff were friendly and nice. We could also book camel rides, which made our stay in the Wadi Rum Desert especially memorable. Highly recommended!

The meals were a proper feast, and there were fun activities at night, with dancing and songs. It's a comfortable place with basic amenities. In winter, the cats are clean, tame and odourless, so I was happy to let them sleep in my tent. I really hope I can come back one day.

I've been a loyal customer at Luxury Camp in Wadi Rum, but this visit was a nightmare. Manager Rami quoted $100 for a king-size bed and sofa for three people in a panorama room. I'd stayed there before, so that seemed outrageous. After haggling, he agreed to 60JD for three beds, which still felt steep. When we reached the room, there was just a king-size bed and sofa. I explained to Rami that we needed an extra bed ASAP before our tour. He said he'd bring one later and asked for more money. I refused, since he'd already taken enough. Thankfully, another staff member stepped in and moved us to Room 7, which had three beds. After our four-hour tour, we were exhausted and found there were only two bath towels. Then dinner came around and the buffet was still closed. We were starving, and it turned out the staff were busy taking photos with Japanese tourists. They didn't open the buffet until 8 PM. Prioritizing photo ops over guests was the final straw. What really annoyed me was that Rami seemed more interested in getting more money from me than making sure a loyal customer had a decent stay. He deflected by pointing out that their phone number was on their webpage, implying I should have booked ahead. It wasn't there at the time, though; now it is. I checked their page later and saw a special offer of 49JD for three. That's how nasty it felt to be overcharged like that. Very disappointed by Rami's greed and lack of care for customers. I wouldn't recommend this camp to anyone.
