After long days climbing in the desert, we loved having the greenery in the courtyard to relax in. The meals were another highlight, especially the delicious homemade food each evening. The Maqluba was outstanding. We spent 10 unforgettable days at Wadi Rum Village Lodge, and Aaid Abu Bilal and his family made us feel like welcome guests. The room was comfortable and practical, with sanitary facilities that worked well and suited our needs. We felt safe throughout. Aaid was also a huge help with climbing and desert camping arrangements. He knows Barrah Canyon and the climbing there very well. The lodge’s binder, with a printout of the Howard guidebook and information about many newer routes, was invaluable when planning our days. We’re already looking forward to coming back to Wadi Rum Village Lodge on our next trip to Jordan.

We came for a climbing holiday, and Ayed was really helpful with advice on where to go and rides out to more remote spots beyond the village. The hostel even has printed topos, which was a nice bonus. Ayed and his son Bilal made our stay great. It’s peaceful and relaxing, and the price is good. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay here again.

We were here for a climbing trip, and Abu Bilal gave us lots of useful information and arranged rides into the desert whenever we asked. He and his son looked after us so well, with plenty of traditional Jordanian food, and we were always greeted with a smile when we came back. Had a great time staying here. 10/10, can’t recommend it enough!

The shady garden was especially welcome on warm days, and the accommodation was comfortable. I stayed 12 days on a climbing trip, and Ayed and his son were superb hosts. They served huge portions of excellent food, just what we needed after hard days climbing, and were happy to fit mealtimes around us. Ayed was friendly and helpful with local information and taxi rides across the desert. He also arranged a camel ride and a bus onward to Petra at the end of the trip. Highly recommended. We came as a group of climbers for 12 days, and the hospitality from this lovely father and son was excellent. The big, delicious dinners were just right after a full day climbing, and being able to set breakfast time flexibly made early starts much easier. I’d recommend this place to anyone.
