The couple running this place are warm and welcoming, and did their best to speak English with us. It’s outside the town centre, though still just a short drive away. The old house has several rooms and was clean and well organised. There’s a shared dining space, fridge, toilet and bathroom. You can watch the sheep and horse from the fence, and the brochure says sheep shearing is available if you’re interested. The uphill entrance could be easy to miss at night, but there are large signs right there.

The room was clean, roomy and nicely cool with the aircon. There are only shared bathrooms, with one bath and shower, but it wasn’t an issue while we were there because it wasn’t busy. A few sheep and a white horse are kept in the barn. The couple hosting us were friendly, polite and sincere.

Our hosts were really kind and friendly, and we had a wonderful stay. The room was big and comfortable. Breakfast was a highlight, with plenty of local vegetables, tasty Hokkaido milk and eggs. I’d highly recommend staying here if you get the chance.

Dinner and breakfast were both cooked on site and tasted great. Breakfast is included, while dinner costs extra, but udon with soup or egg is only 500 Yen. There are also some drinks available. The farm is open to walk around, and there’s a communal area, laundry facilities, a TV and a wall covered in anime. My only worry was that the horses looked cold 🥶. The staff speak okay English and can translate, and they’ll look after you. It’s a cozy, warm place with various amenities and really good value, run by a lovely couple who own the farm. Without a car it’s a bit outside Abashiri, though you can get there by the Memanbetsu > Shari airport bus. Highly recommended.

The farm is lovely, and our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The owners are so friendly and kind. Order dinner if you can, it’s delicious and they give you plenty. I’d happily recommend this place.
