When I called the front desk to ask about rooms, I said I wanted to stay overnight and they opened one up within seconds. They seem to take up the cheap rooms, though. They offer welcome food and drinks, plus free breakfast, but I don’t need that stuff. I’d rather pay a little less. The headboard smelled awful when I lay down, like an abandoned building. It was so bad I couldn’t stand it, and I don’t think I’ll come back.

The cold Chinese noodles here are unbelievably good, absolutely exquisite. I come several times every summer just to eat them. The place isn’t dirty, but it’s not especially clean either, just average. Still, those noodles earn five stars from me.

There were no non-smoking rooms, and when we asked, nobody warned us about that. The dinner was advertised as included, but what arrived in the room was cold and miserable. The place is old and not clean, and the reception staff seemed stressed by having to do double duty. This didn’t feel suitable for tourists, more for adulterers. You aren’t allowed to walk around the hotel, everything is in the room so you don’t see and see.

They told me their phone line was closed and I couldn’t stay overnight. They don’t seem very enthusiastic.
