Hotel Carnet – Adults Only

I like the hotel itself, and there are plenty of friendly staff, so I usually stay here once or twice a month on weekdays. Still, I don't understand why it's nearly always full when the parking lot has so few cars. I go in the evening, when I wouldn't expect it to be packed. I've heard people use the place for sex work and that cleaning can't keep up, but even then, why is it almost always booked out? You can't reserve by phone, and online bookings don't let you choose a room. I hope they fix that. Last week, the older woman at the front desk, with long blond hair, glasses, and a thin build, had such a bad attitude I nearly lost my temper, lol. I'm a member, and I hope the supervisors train the staff properly.

The room wasn't as clean as the good reviews made it sound. There was dust on the counter and the bath salt stand, and the place felt old and dirty. I don't get the high ratings. Maybe they're from family members? Please don't be fooled. I had planned on a business hotel, but needed a short-notice booking, so I reserved online here because the reviews looked good. It was scorching that day, and I finished work early, feeling unwell, so I called to ask if I could check in two hours sooner. The woman on the phone was cold and pushy, saying they might accommodate someone who just called out of nowhere, but that it was a sudden request. I killed time at a family restaurant before heading over. At the desk, I asked to sign up for membership because reviews had mentioned it. They said online bookings couldn't use membership, though their website didn't say that. When I asked where it was stated, they snapped, "It's written there!" I opened the site on my phone and showed them. They asked me to wait. After about ten minutes, while I was still feeling sick, another woman answered the phone, though I don't know if she was a supervisor. Since it wasn't online, I had to explain verbally that online bookers can't become members. Is that really possible? They hadn't explained any of it. I guess they think it's funny to make a fool of me. If you're traveling for work or need to change your check-in time, nearby Livmax is better. They're happy to handle time changes and longer stays, and the price isn't much different. The staff are foreign, but very pleasant to deal with. I'm frustrated with myself for being treated this way and getting taken in by an online booking page that makes the place look like a business hotel.

Why are there so few rooms available on weekday mornings? Are people really staying here that often? For the price, service, and customer care, this is easily the best hotel in this part of Amagasaki.

The bathtub was the one letdown. It felt too small for two people, so we couldn't really relax. The website mentions bigger tubs, but I couldn't work out which room numbers have them. It would help to show the room numbers, bathroom photos, or features of each room, along with the bath details. Otherwise, I loved it. The hotel was so clean, the cleanest I've stayed in, and the receptionist was fantastic. Great location, affordable, and you can stay until checkout after noon. That's hard to find. I'd definitely come back if I get the chance.
