Fairfield Kyoto Amanohashidate

The lobby’s free coffee, tea, and soup kitchen was my favorite part. Coffee and soup got me through the mornings 😂. The hotel is right across from the tourist information building, where you can rent bikes, and the bus stop is across the street too. Buses go directly to Osaka and Kyoto, but take cash. There’s a shopping center within walking distance as well, so it’s a great base for tourists. We booked six months ahead because it was the cheapest option in the area, though still much pricier than our stays in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto. The rooms were spacious, the beds comfortable, and the staff were really nice. I especially enjoyed staying here and would book again if I return, because let’s be real, Amanohasidate is a gem.

The hotel is very new, and the rooms feel updated and full of personality. We had a comfortable one-night stay, and the staff were friendly and professional. There’s a big lounge with a coffee machine and teas, plus a kitchenette where you can make simple meals. Service gets three stars from me because there isn’t much in the way of services to offer. My wife and I checked in after spending the day exploring. It’s right in the region’s “downtown,” with a grocery store, Mcdonalds, and plenty of restaurants nearby. Amanohashidate itself is some distance away, so check the transit schedules. We’d happily return, though we wish the TVs had streaming access.

The staff were really helpful when I needed a taxi. They’re hard to find in that area, so someone at the hotel called one for me. I was there on a last-minute work trip and my Japanese is very limited. Most of the staff had limited English too, but we worked together across the language gap, and they were amazing. The room was cozy and well cared for. Mipple is within walking distance, and the hotel has everything you need as a traveler. 100% recommend!

The hotel was clean, quiet, and well maintained, like the other dependable Fairfield properties across Japan. My room was compact but functional, with a comfortable bed and nice amenities. The staff were polite and helpful, and spoke good English. It’s conveniently located for exploring Amanohashidate, with restaurants and shops close by.
