The breakfast buffet was really good, with a top-tier mix of Western and Japanese food, vegan options, and a live cooking station. They made dishes such as eggs Benedict and croque monsieur, and could customize them as vegetarian for my companion. We also liked the honeycomb honey and other Aomori produce. The rooms were nicely furnished, seemed newly renovated, and felt spacious by Japanese standards. The onsen had real spring water and even came with apples. Staff were courteous and kind; one older gentleman at the breakfast restaurant was especially attentive and offered to take photos of my companion and me. ReLabo is right at Aomori train station, which mattered a lot during peak winter when even walking 100 metres through snow with luggage gets arduous. It’s in the same building as the main mall, with matsukiyo and other shops right next door. Some other hotels were more affordable, but the convenience and other features made the higher price worthwhile. A-factory, the go-to souvenir mall for all things Apple themed, is just a short walk away. We had a really great, wintry two-night stay and highly recommend it.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, and we really enjoyed staying here. The hotel feels very new, with lovely rooms and facilities. Breakfast was better than a standard hotel spread: there was a buffet of quality food plus mains cooked fresh to order. I’d highly recommend staying here if you’re in Aomori.

We spent two nights here on our way up to Sapporo and would definitely come back. The rooms were spacious, with great views, and the hotel was beautiful and relaxing. It’s well placed for local attractions and food. We enjoyed the set-menu French-inspired fusion dinner, and the private onsen was wonderful, though you need to book it.

The location couldn’t be better, and the facilities are very new. It’s a solid hotel and such good value. The service was exceptional, with a real focus on health and aesthetics. It was my hubby’s birthday, and they went out of their way to decorate for him in his favourite color. They’d thoughtfully sourced items from Aomori for the room, and there was even a skincare kit by the vanity. We didn’t get to try the complimentary wellness programming, but they do offer a few options. One night was too short, and we’d definitely return. Highly recommend, don’t hesitate to book!

The best part for me was the restaurant, called “Wellness Gastronomy.” Whether you’re into sustainability or not, the food is to die for. I stayed three nights and got a different set menu each night, while other guests had the dish I’d eaten on the first night. That was amazing. I don’t know who else does this, so well done to the staff at ReLabo. I also enjoyed the Spa, and the service was amazing. The bar is great, with views over Aomori centre, and the restaurant overlooks the famous Aomori Bridge and A-Factory. It’s superbly appointed once you find it, though that can be a little tricky: the lift is in the shopping centre near the train station entrance. If you’re coming to Aomori, at least give ReLabo a try.
