STATION Tajima

There aren’t many restaurants around, so lots of guests brought food from outside and ate at the hotel. It might be a bit hard to get there if you don’t have a car. The staff are friendly, and there’s a welcome drink, like instant coffee or tea. It’s an okay hotel, a good one.

My only complaint is the lack of signs showing where motorcycles should park. The indoor lot is great because you stay dry when it rains, but the motorcycle area is at the top of a slope inside the facility. Since motorcycles get special treatment, a sign pointing the way at the parking lot entrance would be helpful. This was my first stay here, on a solo motorcycle tour. I’d booked an izakaya near Wadayama Station, which was too far to walk, but the owner recommended a bar beside the hotel, which was a lifesaver. The renovated interior feels modern, and there are power outlets on the tables for charging phones and other devices. Staff are at the front desk on the second floor around the clock, so late returns are fine. Their service is excellent. There are also lots of drink vending machines on the first and second floors. The unit bathroom and toilet are convenient, and they provide body soap, shampoo, conditioner, and face soap. The single-handle hot water dispenser switches between faucet and shower without having to mix hot and cold water, which is a nice feature.

The breakfast bread was especially good, and my room was clean. The price was good too. I was looking for somewhere in the Wadayama area before a planned ski trip, and this was my first stay at the inn. I’m planning to visit Kinosaki Onsen and Miyazu soon, and I’d definitely stay here again.

The staff, from the front desk to the restaurant, were attentive and made our family’s stay very comfortable. Breakfast didn’t have a huge variety, but each dish was carefully prepared and delicious. The shampoo bar also had a wide selection.
