Asahikawa Sun Hotel

Our room had a really cool layout. Instead of the usual small entrance hall opening onto a desk and bed, it felt open as soon as we walked in, while still having the same sized bathroom as other hotels in Japan. They used the space well. The location was great, though driving there was confusing because Google Maps got mixed up. Finding it on foot was no trouble. There are only a few spaces under the hotel, and you can park across the street if there's room, but that parking is paid. The staff were courteous, friendly, understanding, and helpful. We missed breakfast on the first day, and they helped us park across the road without charging us for that day. We thought that was very kind. Breakfast the second morning was delicious and just the right amount, satisfying without being too filling. Everyone we dealt with, at the front desk, in the kitchen and serving, and on the cleaning staff, did an excellent job. We really enjoyed staying here and look forward to coming back.
