Ajiro Kanko Hotel

The rooms, the kaiseki, the staff’s friendly manner, and the traditional hot onsen were all impeccable. It’s a traditional Japanese ryokan through and through. The staff were very friendly, and some spoke English without any trouble. I highly recommend it when you visit Ajiro Japan. We spent one night here on our honeymoon while traveling through Japan. It was a long time ago, but I remember it as nice and cozy. I was also amazed to find an outdoor private thermal bath next to the lobby.

I stayed here with my dog, and the staff were very polite. We were able to relax comfortably, and I really liked the in-room hot spring, which is fed directly from the source. From the bath, we had a panoramic view of Atami’s ocean. It feels rare to find an inn with pet-friendly open-air baths in guest rooms and a natural hot spring. The inn’s interior has been renovated and was very clean. The food was delicious and plentiful, mostly seafood. Smoking isn’t allowed in the rooms, but there’s an indoor smoking area at the back of the lobby. Our room was on the second floor. The shower pressure was very weak, and the toilet was small, but everything else was so good that those things didn’t bother us. I’d like to go again.
