The Japanese-style room had a lovely sea view, and the private hot spring area had the same nice outlook. The water is very salty, but it leaves your skin feeling smooth. I only had the typical Japanese ryokan breakfast, and it was tasty with a good variety of local foods.

For a ryokan so close to Tokyo, we found nearly everything fabulous, and the price was top notch too. We had a room with a private onsen, so there was no need to wait for one of the hotel's other baths to become free. The one drawback was the highway location, which brought quite a bit of noise whenever the windows were open. English is very limited here, and some prior ryokan experience is helpful.

The traditional food was brilliant at both dinner and lunch, and the service was excellent. They also had a bus for seeing the fireworks. Onden was really good. Such a lovely Japanese hotel, perfect for a short weekend break!
