The spa area was one of the nicest I've been to, with a sauna and an infinity-style onsen looking out over the beach. Our room was enormous and had its own onsen, plus those views, and the beach is only two minutes away. Staff were very friendly, and both breakfast and dinner were delicious. I'd definitely return, hopefully during one of Atami's famous fireworks nights. The only downside was smoke around the second-floor elevator lobby, where the smoking room is. Next time I'll book a room on another floor.

The automatic hot spring water system made things especially convenient and relaxing, and the whole high-tech feel impressed me. The ocean-view hotel is stylish, with thoughtful design and attentive, professional service. I was very satisfied with my stay and will definitely return. Highly recommend it.

The breakfast buffet was great, and they gave us lots of complimentary drinks. I didn't get to try the other restaurants. Parking was available on the fourth floor, and the staff were friendly. The hotel is beautiful, and the rooms were modern and very clean, with lots of features controlled by iPad. The private onsen was clean and the water temperature was just right. They also use good body products from brand-name lines.

The location, room, and amenities were all top-notch, and we had a wonderful stay at Atami Pearl Star. Service was excellent overall, with one small snag at check-in. We don't speak Japanese, so things weren't as smooth as they could have been. The staff member helping us didn't offer welcome drinks, though we saw other guests receiving them. I don't think it was a hotel-wide problem, just a matter of that staff member's training.

From the outside, it looks like a pretty basic resort, but inside the Western and traditional Japanese design details work really well together. We found it in Atami and were glad we did. The room was lovely and very spacious. Having a private onsen bath in the room was a big plus.
