This is a simple, compact place, but it’s tasteful, clean, and comfortable, with a budget-friendly price at a time when hotel rates on Awaji Island have risen as it’s become a resort destination. I came to cycle around the island. On Saturday nights, the woman who owns it prepares food, and you can have a drink with local Awaji Island sake. I enjoyed talking with her, since she loves travel, and with the couple staying there. It was a lovely part of traveling solo. I plan to stay here again when I return to Awaji Island.
The starry sky was incredibly beautiful, and I had a wonderful night. It’s clean, friendly, and has a homey feel. Other guests stay here, and everything apart from the bedrooms is shared, which gives you the kind of conversation you get at a guesthouse. Lights-out is a little early, but the rules are clear and it made for a pleasant stay. There are safety deposit boxes too. I’d definitely come back!
I had a comfortable, very clean one-night stay during my Awaji Island trip, and would definitely stay again. It’s a guesthouse, so the bathroom, toilet, and shower room are shared. The private rooms are unisex, while the other common areas are divided by gender. There’s a basket outside the shower room for clothes and other items, and shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are supplied. You usually bring your own pajamas and towels, though it seems you can rent them for a fee. The outlet by the bed was handy. The curtains between rooms have gaps at the top and bottom, so that could be an issue if you’re sensitive to noise. Earplugs were provided. A towel rack in the bathroom, a stool or other spot for belongings outside the shower, and slippers would be useful.
I slept soundly to the sound of insects, with a beautiful starry sky overhead. Since it’s a guesthouse, I imagine other guests’ snoring could bother some people, but it’s much better than a capsule hotel, and they provide good quality earplugs. The owners were very kind, and the facilities were very clean. It seemed to have opened in April this year, and I was lucky to find such good value. I got to join a bonfire too, though that isn’t part of the service, haha. It made a fun travel memory. I wonder if this guesthouse will become well known someday? 🥺 I didn’t meet anyone on a particularly interesting trip this time, so I’ll look forward to that next time. I want to come back next year!
