The receptionist was friendly and helpful, and we found the room spacious and very clean, with a great view of (Lake)Biwako and the Biwako-ohashi Bridge. We came to the Omihachiman area for sightseeing and some rest, and the hotel was handy for restaurants, a large shopping mall, and plenty of places to visit. We also got two vouchers for a nearby Spa facility. Breakfast was plentiful and good value. The hotel has both smoking and non-smoking rooms, and non-smokers can specify their preference. It has seen better days, but that isn't a criticism. We felt we got good value for the night we booked at the 'Biwako Plaza Hotel'.

The staff were nice, but the hotel and rooms are very old, and the location is HORRIBLE. Not recommended at all!

The staff are great, but the place is very, very old. There was mold on the wall in our room, and the sink was rusty and had mineral deposits. I felt like everything I touched was dirty.

A good base for exploring around the lake. The concierge kindly let us leave our car overnight.

The rooms have three single beds and plenty of space. There are free massage chairs and tea and coffee in the foyer, and the windows look out over Lake Biwa.
