Kiro Hiroshima by the Share Hotels

The poolside area, where we had breakfast, had a lovely atmosphere and was a great place to spend time. We also liked the reception's ambience as soon as we walked in. The concrete-chic design carried into the rooms, with an interesting use of odd ceiling slabs. The room was comfortable, and my friend's family room felt cosy. The location worked well for what we wanted to do, especially visiting the Hiroshima peace park and finding food. The staff were friendly.

We really liked the poolside area as a place to unwind. The staff were helpful and friendly, and their English was excellent. Our room was clean and a decent size, though it was beginning to look a little dated and could use a minor refurb. It didn't affect the rating for us. Shops, restaurants, and major sights are all within walking distance, and the main train station is walkable too if you don't mind the distance.

We had two rooms for our group of ten, with six beds in each. The kids loved having curtains around their bunk beds. Each room had a small fridge and bathroom, though there wasn't much room for luggage. We made breakfast in the communal kitchen each morning, and the shared lounge bar had free non-alcoholic drinks in the evening. Good place to sleep for a few nights. Downstairs there's a coffee barista, but the milk choices were only oat or cow's milk, and they didn't have decaf.

We stayed two nights in the family bunk-bed room, which worked well for our family of four. The hotel is very central, with shops, bars, and restaurants only a few minutes away, yet both the room and location were quiet. The train station is about ten minutes away. There's a nice little bar in the hotel that makes a great gin and tonic. I'd stay here again for a short trip to Hiroshima.
