Oriental Hotel Hiroshima

We enjoyed it enough to book another stay for when we come back in a week. We're two adults traveling for pleasure, and found it comfortable and good value. The room was great, and breakfast had a wide selection of hot and cold foods. In the late afternoon, there are snacks in the lobby, a nice spot to sit and talk with other travelers over tea, coffee, or a fruity Chi-bo, which is a new favorite. There's also a small playground right out front beneath the tree-lined boulevard, handy for families with kids.

They have complimentary snacks for guests, and the Chi Bo drink was great. The staff were very kind too. Outside noise bothered me, so they helped move me to another room, and I slept really well after that.

The view was lovely, and the staff were extremely friendly. Still, the room wasn't what I expected: the furniture was old and the walls were very dirty. I stayed alone for two nights in September 2025.

The location is the only thing I liked. The rooms were very hot, the air conditioning was poor, and the bed was really uncomfortable. Our shower filled with water and wouldn't drain. They moved us to another room, but it had the same problem. It seems like they know about this and keep renting the rooms anyway. They've put all the money into the hotel's front and lobby. Beyond that, everything feels like it's from the 1960s, in mission brown, like stepping back into your grandmother's house. Spend the extra few bucks and stay somewhere else.
