Villa Mon Temps Awaji

We spent two nights here in July with three generations of our family. The man who took our booking over the phone and the woman concierge who explained everything at check-in were both kind and thoughtful. The building was bigger and cleaner than we expected from the website, with a well-equipped kitchen and amenities provided. It had what we needed for cooking, meals, and cleanup. We had good weather and enjoyed the pool and fishing. Bring your own fishing gear. The beach isn't private and has lots of rocks, but swimming is possible if you're careful. We booked the BBQ in advance, and everything except the food was supplied. We could see fireworks near Awaji Yumebutai while we barbecued. Being surrounded by nature means there were spiders and insects on the outside walls. We even spotted a stag beetle. If the weather's good and you have enough people, I think it offers good value. You can't see the sunset from here, but we did get to see the sunrise.

It's a beautiful, luxurious villa, and the kids had plenty to do. They soaked in the jacuzzi, went to the sauna several times, and jumped into the pool. They also liked the underwater pool lighting and watching Netflix at night. In summer, you can play in the ocean or on the beach just in front of the villa, so even the little ones can enjoy the day. The rooms would work well for a trip with both sets of grandparents: there are two private rooms with two beds each and one family room with four beds, each with its own bathroom. The parents paid for the stay! 😆

Eight of us in the family came for a one-night birthday trip, and we had the place to ourselves. It was easy to relax and have fun without other guests around. The location was fantastic, and the exterior, interior, facilities, and amenities all felt relaxing. We enjoyed spending time with family and friends, but it was also nice to just do nothing. I'm taking off a star because a few steps were steep for older people and the shower pressure was weak. I'd like to come back in summer.
