The inn was peaceful and lovely, and the landlady's cheerful welcome was really soothing. With Toujinbo and Oshima easy to reach, it also worked well as a base for sightseeing. We stayed at Ryusen as a family of five over Golden Week. We got there about an hour early and I nervously called to ask what to do. They said they were on their way and got us checked in straight away. That kind of hospitality was amazing. After checking in, we got "hangaku tickets" for a nearby hot spring, and the whole family had a nice, relaxing soak. Later we walked to the izakaya "Keima." There were lots of local dishes, and chatting with the friendly Taisho was a lot of fun. It was welcoming to children too, and we all left feeling happy and full. A warm place for a family trip. I'd definitely like to come back!
