Although the building and facilities are old, the wallpaper inside looked freshly redone, the cleaning was spotless, and the room was clean. The owner was helpful and friendly, and was managing everything on his own. The room's bath is small, but there is a hot spring just a five-minute walk away. There's a surveillance camera at the entrance, and the futons were fluffy. In the Japanese-style room, it felt safe to sleep with the kids. There are also plenty of child-friendly restaurants within walking distance, plus a nearby convenience store where we picked up breakfast. We appreciated being free to eat out or buy food and have it in the room. We chose the place because it's less than 10 minutes from Shibamasa World. The rooms were much nicer than the photos, and the retro Showa-era look gives it a different feel from the larger facilities nearby. I was unsure which hot spring inn or hotel to pick, but this was cheaper and more relaxing, so I was very satisfied. I'd recommend it as a place to stay alongside a visit to Shibamasa World. The owner was easy to talk to and really kind. We also got a 50% off ticket for bathing at the nearby Centpia Awara. The room had a tasteful, retro Showa-era feel, and the bath was bigger than I'd expected. There's a public bath and convenience store nearby, which was convenient, and I think it took about 10 minutes to walk from Awara Onsen. We'd booked somewhere else for our Shibamasa World trip, but they canceled on the day for their own reasons. I quickly booked this inn for just a room and board. I'd be glad to stay here again next time I visit Shibamasa World!

The elderly husband runs the inn by himself and pays close attention to the details. It offers accommodation only at very reasonable prices for Awazu Onsen. They also have discount tickets for bathing at Centpia Awara, so it's worth checking in first. I'm satisfied and give it a ◎ rating, and I highly recommend Awara Onsen for a drop-in bath.

We could eat out or get food from a convenience store and bring it back to the room, which gave our family with a child a welcome sense of freedom. My child and I stayed together, and when I shut the toilet door and looked closely, I spotted a door from "Where's Wally?" As someone born in the Showa era, I found it really fun. It's an oddly addictive inn, and I'd like to stay again.
