Pension Harvest

There’s barley tea and fresh water available for free, which made it easy to stay hydrated, and the place was very comfortable to spend time in. Our room had twin beds and a simple sink. The shared bath has a roomy tub that we took turns using, and each room has its own assigned toilet, which was convenient. The owner is wonderful, and the meals were delicious. They’re made with care from thoughtfully chosen ingredients, mostly vegetables the owner grows. The bread is freshly baked, and the jams and dressings are homemade too.

The clouds were moving fast on my morning walk, with a little rain that came and went. Mountain weather, I guess. Then a rainbow appeared before I even noticed. 🌈 The owner also gave me detailed tips about places and activities in Kamikochi, which made me want to come back to Azumino. ✨ It’s a very quiet pension. In the morning the stove is warm and there’s soothing music playing. I booked breakfast only, but the owner’s smoked food and homemade bread were both delicious. Apparently the smoking is done in a homemade barrel outside. I’d love to have dinner there next time too. (^^)

The room was handy and quiet, and I slept really well. Breakfast was delicious too. It was a great place to stay, and I appreciated the hospitality.

We stayed here the night before heading to Kamikochi. It was clean and comfortable, and the bed was so good we both slept well. The owner and his wife were incredibly warm and thoughtful, which really touched us. The food was delicious, and we were surprised to learn they make the ham and bacon themselves. They also grow vegetables on the property, so you can tell they care a lot about their ingredients. We’d love to visit the guesthouse again. Thank you very much.
