Before peak season, the room was good value, so I ended up having a decent stay. But checking in on the fourth floor tablet was a strange and exhausting process. The guide said to choose “foreigner” and scan my passport, but neither option appeared. It went straight to a phone call at step one, and whenever I tried to explain, they hung up and told me to go back and select “foreigner” and scan the passport. We did this ten times. They then asked me to scan my passport through Airbnb. I sent it, and only then did they give me the password. I said I couldn’t have seen that option at first and offered to show my passport on a video call, but they hung up. It seems an update completion error may have happened because Airbnb changed something midway through the process. Since this was an unmanned Airbnb, I wasted an hour on the fourth floor trying to check in on the tablet, haha.
