I had a wonderful stay in Beppu.

The place is a converted apartment building. Staff were friendly, and the Wi-Fi was fast.

The apartment was tidy, with flowers arranged inside, which was a lovely touch for families with kids. It felt like staying at my grandmother’s house, and I could really relax. The building is an old 3DK apartment with two adjoining tatami rooms, and there’s parking on site. Thanks for looking after us.

I came back for six nights in September 2024, and by now this inn feels like home. I can go straight to my room without passing through a hotel front desk, so even I can stock up on groceries at night without feeling self-conscious. They leave enough toothbrushes, razors, towels, bath towels, and face towels for the full stay, which is a big help. Travel to Oita and Beppu has become a regular part of my life, and I couldn’t keep doing it without this place. I’m always on my own, so I imagine I’m not very profitable as a guest, but I appreciate how kindly they treat me and keep coming back. I also got to chat with the manager’s mother, who was warm and fun to talk with. I plan to stay here again. Thank you, m(_ _)m [Additional Note] After a few trips to Kyushu, roughly once a year, I’ve settled on this place as my base in Oita. It’s a private lodging, basically an apartment reserved for your group. You can’t cook, and there’s no hot spring in the room, just a regular bath and shower, but there are plenty of cheap hot springs nearby that you can visit without staying overnight. Since hot springs are my main reason for coming, that works well for me. I’m a solo traveler, but groups can keep lodging costs down here too. Highly recommended. This was my second visit, and the home-like feel is a big part of the appeal. There are two rooms, so it seems especially suited to a larger group, though I’d recommend it to solo travelers as well.
