Getting checked in was a complete disaster. I’d booked a four-day, three-night trip through Agoda around May, but the check-in iPad was locked with a password. They wouldn’t give it to me until my first day, even though I kept asking. I arrived not knowing how to check in and emailed them at 7:33 pm. Each reply took 15 to 20 minutes, and the last one didn’t come until 8:57 pm. I was stuck at the door for over an hour and getting impatient. I asked other guests how they’d checked in, and a Japanese guest helped me call the owner and get the password. Without that help, I might have been left there for hours. My phone SIM was data-only, and I don’t understand Japanese, so I didn’t know how long I could manage on my own. I emailed again and waited another 15 minutes for a reply. I also contacted Agoda, but they didn’t answer until the next day, which made me really angry. The whole thing was a terrible disappointment, and I wouldn’t recommend booking this guesthouse. If you run into the same problem, you could feel completely lost and helpless.

We stayed three days and loved this comfortable, great-value B&B. It has an onsen and complete, comfortable facilities, and sits in a quiet spot despite being amid the bustle. Even two weeks into our trip, everyone was still speaking highly of it.
