The restaurant downstairs made a real impression on us. We ate both dinner and breakfast there, and the dinner was delicious and beautifully presented. Bibai is quiet, with not many places to eat, so I hope the restaurant keeps going for a long time. Hotel Bijiko is right beside the station, and while it's a two-star place, our room was tidy, clean, and roomy. It had the essentials already, so we didn't need to pick up amenities in the lobby. The staff were friendly and polite, and gave us several 200-yen coupons for the nearby convenience store. We ended up getting three cans of beer free. Bibai may feel slow for visitors who prefer a busy town, but I like small places and the quiet. I'd happily suggest Hotel Bijiko to anyone who feels the same. If you get there early, the lobby beauty salon takes reservations for an affordable, simple 60-minute facial massage. I think they may take male customers too. One extra find: beside the convenience store there's a tiny candy shop with old-fashioned sweets and toys at very low prices. I bought around 30 different kinds for about 2xxx yen.

Being right across from the station was easily the best part. The shower lets you adjust the water pressure, which I liked, and breakfast was tasty too. Hotel Bijiko had a quiet, tidy, slightly refined feel that didn't really feel like a hotel, and it suited quiet Bibai well.

I was really uncomfortable here. The room they moved me into hadn't been cleaned properly, and it was strange to be asked to switch rooms when the room type was supposedly the same. Before check-in, they didn't respond to my emails or messages. Their cancellation rule is three days before arrival, and they enforce it very strictly. That doesn't feel normal for a business hotel. The service was terrible.

We had to leave a day early without warning and had a lot of things to get rid of, including two suitcases, scooters, clothes, and camping gear. The staff kindly took care of disposing of it all for free. Trash sorting in Japan is strict, and bulky items can be a real hassle and cost quite a bit to dispose of. I'm incredibly grateful they helped us out of sheer kindness. 🙇🏼♀️
