Breakfast was included and very tasty, better than what I've had at some really expensive ryokans. There isn't a dinner service. The rooms have comfortable, large beds, and the staff were good. It's a lovely, cozy hotel in Biei, very close to the JR station if you're arriving by train, with a large car park nearby too. There's also a unique Pokémon Manhole cover right in front of the hotel!

The place is a little outdated, but the good points stood out. Cleanliness was good, and the staff responded quickly when we asked at 10 pm to open the connecting door between our rooms. They got back to us in under five minutes. It's only three minutes from Biei JR station. Breakfast was outstanding, a classic Japanese meal. I especially liked the miso soup, potatoes, and butter bread.

We had a very good night, and the staff were kind enough to let us leave our bicycles inside by the entrance after we arrived in the middle of a rainstorm. Breakfast was good too. Our room faced the train tracks, so it may not suit light sleepers.

I loved the breakfast, and the location is perfect, just a three-minute walk from Biei Station. There's a souvenir shop and restaurant downstairs, connected by a door. The room was a little outdated, but spacious and clean. Lavenir makes a great base for exploring Biei, a lovely little town that's small but very beautiful.

They let me check in early because my room was ready, and the staff were polite and welcoming. It's a cute little hotel in Biei, nothing fancy, but in a very good location, just 10m from the JR station. That's not surprising if you know Japan 😀.
