I especially appreciated how helpful the staff were. They lent me tape and scissors to wrap my parcels, and my bike was kept safely indoors. The buffet breakfast had plenty of good options, and the clean, relaxing sento was a nice bonus. I was given a spacious bedroom, so the whole stay felt comfortable.

We had a big tatami room with all the amenities we needed, and it was easy to reach from the local train station. There was a good izakaya nearby too. For a stay in this area, the quality for the price is excellent.

In 2015, I cycled through Kyushu, Japan, coming from Hyuga in Miyazaki and Nobeoka before reaching Route 326 and Bungoono. The hotel facilities were a little old, but the tall man at the front desk was very welcoming and friendly. His service-minded attitude and steady politeness made it clear he wanted foreign visitors to feel happy and helped. There’s a public bathhouse on the fourth floor and laundry on the second. Two convenience stores are a 3-5 minute walk away. My single room cost about $49, and the WIFI is free and has no password.
