The lodge made such a peaceful, affordable escape from city life while we were visiting Oita. My wife and I stayed for 3 days and had an amazing time. We cooked all our meals ourselves using the kitchen essentials, two fridges, and microwave. Alex kindly picked us up at Bungo-Uno Station, and Yuki took us to stop for groceries. On checkout day, we had course registration and the staff let us spend the rest of the day in the reception area. We really appreciated how welcoming they were, and we’re already planning another visit.

We spent a lovely couple of days in the countryside in November. We rode e-bikes past rice fields to the waterfall and enjoyed the sauna on a cool day. Breakfast was great, too. If you don’t have a car, walking from the station is doable in 30 minutes. A great spot for anyone who enjoys the outdoors.

There’s a real local feel here, including food made with local ingredients. The lodge sits beside a river with mountains all around, and the rooms are clean and cozy. The staff were super kind and helpful. It’s such a peaceful place to get away from the city and enjoy the surrounding nature. I’d love to come back with friends, and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience rural Japan.

The staff were amazing during the few days I spent here, and there’s plenty to do: nearby hikes, saunas, fishing, games, and a river where you can relax or take a quick dip after the sauna. I’d recommend spending some time here to get away from the big cities, even if it’s only a short break.

The staff are friendly, the room is comfortable, and the view is great. There are lots of ways to spend your time, including rafting and cycling, with countryside Japan and nature all around. I had a great dinner and breakfast, and the Wagyu was so good. Recommended.
