The staff had my room ready before I arrived and put my Amazon parcel inside, which was kind of them. I was there for two nights on a late-winter ski trip in March. The room was spacious, the décor felt comfortable after a tiring day, and the surroundings were quiet. The nearby convenience store closes after 11 p.m. My concern was guest safety: after I forgot my room key and asked for help getting back in, staff didn’t proactively check my passport.

The property has a chic, classic elegance, and the simple lobby and warm welcome from the front-line staff really capture the Karuizawa vibe. The twin room was super spacious, with a calming garden in the middle of the building. The lounge was neat and clean, with generous coffee, tea, and cookies. The location is superb, only a 5-minute walk from the Shinkansen station. We rented an electric bike, which was handy for the hills. Everything in the room was high quality, from the smart TV and air purifier to the large bathroom. Looking forward to coming back.

The location near the train station and outlet is good. My room was an okay size and quiet, and there’s a big library area for reading and relaxing. All the books are in Japanese, though, so it doesn’t really cater to foreign guests. The hotel felt cold and dull, and I wouldn’t want to stay there again.

The delivered breakfast, amenities, and staff were all 100%. It’s a super safe-feeling spot, about a 10-minute walk from the train station and right next to Lawson's. This hotel was fantastic. I almost don’t want to reveal this place, but I couldn’t keep it to myself. Thank you!

The man at the front desk was extremely rude. He told us to read instructions 1-4 ourselves. When I asked whether there was a toothbrush set in the room, he impatiently pointed to the instructions and said in English that I should have read them. They only said we could take one from the counter, without saying whether it was already in the room.
