The room was quaint, but had what we needed, including an in unit washing machine. Check in was super easy, and everything is within walking distance.

The area was great for walking, with lots to do by the beach. That was the best part. Still, I don't think the AirBnB was worth what they charged, and would only book it if there were no other options. During our eight nights, we heard furniture being moved from 7 am until midnight or 1 am. The AC unit was partly broken, and staff didn't speak fluent English, which made communication difficult. Parking costs 1000¥ a night and was hard to get in and out of, so I wouldn't say it's worth it. The kitchen cooking set costs another 1500¥ per night, and there were other small fees too. Check-in time didn't match what AirBnB said. The host wanted to charge extra for a late check-in until we showed them the information on their public page. You also have to bring your own trash bags. There are no recycling containers, even though they ask you to separate burnables from recycling.

The location was a strong point, right in front of Araha beach and about an eight minute walk from American Village. The room also had a washing machine and dryer, though the dryer function didn't work. At least there was a balcony for drying clothes. Check-in could only happen between 3 pm and 9 pm. Reception is on the second floor, and you have to use the intercom when checking in. You can only ask questions during those same hours. The receptionist didn't seem to understand either English or Japanese, which made it hard when we wanted to extend our stay by a night. There also seemed to be many fees that weren't shown when booking through OTA sites like Expedia. Parking costs ¥1,000 per night, housekeeping isn't included, and a request for it costs another ¥1,000 a night. Cooking utensils are also rented for a fee on longer stays. The room interior felt a little old and could use a more thorough cleaning. I noticed quite a bit of dust in some areas, stains on the wall, and a funky urine smell in the toilet. The walls were a bit thin too, though it may be fine if you're a heavy sleeper.

For the price, it was good value. A few things were missing: there was no brush in the room, no pole for hanging clothes on the balcony, and no charging point near the bed or couch.
