Hilton Okinawa Chatan Resort

A local recommended this resort, and I understood why as soon as I opened my room door. Even a standard room has a level of comfort any traveler would appreciate. The bed was so comfortable, and the deep soaking tub was incredible. The layout worked perfectly for two adults, with plenty of space and drawer storage. The bathroom area gives you a tub and shower, toilet, and vanity, all separated for privacy and practical use. The property is beautiful, and the location and amenities are great too. Five stars in every category from me. Enjoy!

The lounge was a nice spot to relax and chat with friends, and the breakfast buffet on the lobby level had plenty of variety, including Okinawan specialties and soft serve. After the meal, they sent us off with an Okinawan message, which was really touching. The sea and sunset looked lovely from our room balcony, and we could see the sunrise from the corridor. We stayed for a week in January 2026 for a birthday trip. It was a nice surprise to find decorations in the room and receive a cute souvenir. The rooms were clean and spacious, and service was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful, and could communicate in simple English. The hotel is conveniently near American village, with lots of food options, a convenience store just across the street, and a short walk to the beach. The laundry room is on the first floor. Payment was easy by scanning the QR code on our phones, and we could switch it to English. The website showed machine availability and progress, with email notifications too. The parking system was being upgraded, so parking was free during our stay.

The service is what stands out most. Staff were professional, polite, attentive, and made us feel looked after from arrival through the stay. The evening lounge for executive members was also very good and added value. Breakfast was another highlight, with a wide selection and high quality. We really enjoyed the pool setup: three pools in all, an indoor one, an outdoor adults pool, and a large outdoor kids' pool with a slide that still felt like a proper resort pool. The amenities were premium and well maintained. The hotel is right in American Village, handy for walking to shops, restaurants, and the waterfront, and the property itself is beautiful. A couple of things could be better. There are 10 washers and 10 dryers, which is useful for longer stays, but the dryers are small and took around 90 minutes to dry clothes fully. The gym felt underwhelming for a hotel of this size and quality: just 2 bikes, 5 treadmills, 1 cable machine, and a rack of smaller dumbbells. It works for a basic workout, but needs an upgrade. I’m a big fan and would gladly stay again. The service, breakfast, executive lounge, pools, and American Village location made for an excellent experience despite those gym and laundry drawbacks.

Breakfast was delicious, and the beds were really comfortable. We’d eaten at this Hilton a few times before, but this was our first overnight stay. The updated room was beautiful, and we were unexpectedly upgraded to one with an ocean-view terrace. It was so quiet that we felt like the only guests there. A wonderful stay, and I hope we can come back.
