The breakfast was nice, and morning beer was hard to beat. The woman who helped us book a tour was lovely and really helpful. The place feels like a hotel villa from the 00s, though the facilities are pretty old, even if clean. One thing that made me uncomfortable was the animal show in the hall and lobby. Seeing an owl and a monkey chained there while people just pass by felt bad. If we want to see wild animals, we'd go to a zoo.

The staff were friendly, and breakfast had a decent range of options. I stayed a couple of days and found the room spacious and clean, though the pillows were a bit hard. The location worked well, and the AC was excellent in the intense heat outside.

The beach right by the hotel is lovely, and I liked the bathtub, but the room itself let me down. The hotel seems past its best, with damp damage, water marks on the walls, and a general musty smell. Tattoos aren't allowed in the pool. I also can't understand why a monkey and a giant tortoise are kept in a tiny glass enclosure with nothing to do or any enrichment. That seems needlessly cruel, especially for a social animal like a monkey and a long-lived one like a tortoise.

The view is the highlight, and you're near both the beach and American Village. For a stay of 1-2 days it's okay, but don't expect anything impressive. The hotel and room equipment are old, and the sofa was especially uncomfortable. The room has an older Japanese-style design. Breakfast and service were okay. If you're driving, the lot next to the hotel is large and free, so skip the hotel's parking, which costs 1000yen per night.

There was pitch-black mold on the floor as soon as I walked into the room. Cleaning happens only once, on the fourth day of a stay, and this place feels worse than a guesthouse. I wouldn't consider it fit for a high school group tour. I used to believe hygiene standards in rural Japan were always extremely high and thorough, but staying at "Beach tower Okinawa" changed my mind.
