The ocean view from the room was lovely, and it was handy being near Araha beach and American Village. I also slept well in the comfortable bed and appreciated having a kitchen, washer, and dryer. The free bikes were in great shape, but the 8pm return deadline felt unnecessarily strict, especially with the front desk open until at least 10pm. One evening I warned staff I might be 10-15 minutes late, and they flatly said that was out of the question without explaining why. It took some of the ease out of the holiday; a bit of flexibility would have helped. I also thought the ¥50,000 charge for losing a room key made little sense, since copying a key surely wouldn’t cost anything close to that.

The beach nearby is beautiful, and there’s a supermarket close too. It’s a nice neighborhood for getting a feel for local life. Two very kind staff members welcomed us, and they were friendly, smiling, and ready to help with whatever we needed. This was my first trip abroad with my mom, and I’m so glad we made such lovely memories here. I’d happily stay again.

The waterfront setting gives you excellent views, and the rooms are clean, quiet, and well equipped. The bathrooms were quiet too. Staff were pleasant and quick to respond. It’s a great base for getting around Chatan, and the rooms feel more Western in style than at the sister hotel, OILE next door.

I spent 8 months here and loved the location. There are lots of places to eat and bars within walking distance, and the one-bedroom unit has the best view in Chatan. The owner is friendly and very responsive. 10/10.

There were plenty of good things about the room and location, but I stepped in dog waste in the parking lot. There was more of it around the far edges of the lot, including on a small sandy patch where it was easy to step in without noticing. I told the man at the front desk, but he didn’t offer to help, and the waste was still there the next morning when I saw it again.
