We were happy with our stay. The inside was very clean and spacious, and I could tell the owner put effort into keeping it that way. It’s also conveniently near American Village and close enough to reach other cities like Naha. The main drawback is some late-night traffic noise from the major road, especially from bikers. It wasn’t constant through the night, but I heard it a couple of times between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m.

It was clean, spacious, and reasonably priced, with more rooms and space than I’ve found in other nearby places at this price. It was the best. Motorcycle gangs sometimes made noise at night, but we were loud enough ourselves that it was fine. The convenience store was a seven or eight minute walk away, which was a bit of a hassle, though the walk became a memorable part of the stay. I was satisfied overall.
There’s no elevator, and the whole place felt like a derelict building. The stairs were incredibly narrow, which was especially bad when we had luggage for ten people. There was also a strange camera inside the property, with coverage of the downstairs hallway, the area outside the kitchen, and all the stairs at any time. Are the arrows in the photo pointing to talismans?! The nightly rate was 12,000, so we decided not to cancel and just take the loss. All ten of us in the family booked a hotel nearby instead. The host was very dishonest. They knew seven adults and three children were staying but never said there was no elevator. One star is already too generous.
We were a group of 11, and it was a pleasant stay overall. The house is a good option if you’re traveling with family or friends and want plenty of space and practical facilities. There are shops and restaurants within walking distance, and we found it convenient. The layout is spread over two floors. On the third floor there’s one double bedroom with only a small fan and no air conditioning, one room with two single beds, and a tatami room with three floor mattresses. The living room has a sofa bed. Upstairs on the fourth floor are two double bedrooms, plus another room with a single bed and a sofa bed. There’s one shower on the third floor, along with a washer-dryer combo, and one toilet on each floor. Even with 11 people, taking turns for showers wasn’t much of a problem. The tatami room has no curtains and gets bright in the morning, so bring a sleep mask if that might bother you. Its sliding doors and windows were a little damaged, but we reported that right away and it didn’t affect our stay. The house and furniture are somewhat dated, and don’t look as new as the photos, but the place has a comfortable, homey Japanese family feel. It’s near a main road, so there’s traffic, and noisy bosozoku motorcycle groups sometimes pass late at night. Light sleepers should bring earplugs. Stairs between floors may also make it unsuitable for elderly people or anyone with mobility issues, and guests who want a modern interior or a very quiet setting may not enjoy it. For the space and functionality, we thought it was good value.
We found a surveillance camera inside the living room, and it hadn’t been disclosed before check-in. A camera in an indoor space guests use during their stay is a serious privacy concern, even if it isn’t in a bedroom. I believe Japanese law and platforms like Airbnb require clear advance disclosure, and I strongly advise other guests to be careful. The camera was installed just above where this photo was taken, outside the frame. The host said it wasn’t a problem, which we found unacceptable and dishonest. Why leave a camera out of the listing photos? It felt like an attempt to hide it. The 360-degree rotating camera, similar to a Xiaomi model, seemed pointed at the entrances to all the rooms. It made the place feel invasive and creepy. The elevator was broken and still hadn’t been repaired. Its entrance was blocked with lightweight steel panels, giving a sloppy and unsettling impression. The stairs were narrow and dirty, and even carrying a suitcase up them was difficult. The interior also felt old and worn. We didn’t feel safe staying there, so we left immediately. Think carefully before booking. The host should reconsider how the property is managed.
