At night we took a chair out onto the deck to look at the stars, and the view was stunning. The window connecting the deck to our room opens. We’d booked one of the outdoor trunk style tiny houses, and it was compact but thoughtfully designed and decorated, with a shower and toilet installed. Our unit was right by the Snowpeak headquarters shop, with the camping field opposite. The site felt extremely calm and peaceful, especially at night. We had dinner and breakfast included; the food was okay, and the onsen in the headquarters was great. A unique experience, totally snowpeak. Worth a visit if you’re traveling to Niigata.

The outside looks cool, but I couldn’t go in and experience it. If you have tattoos, you’re not allowed inside, even if you cover them up.

The area is quiet and there isn’t much to do nearby, especially without a car, but that made it a great place to unplug and relax. If you come by train, you need a taxi from Subamesanjo station, which costs around 8000y. I’d bring snacks too, since the store has limited choices. We stayed a night in the box and loved it. The bed was really cozy, and the little deck has amazing views. Boxes #1 and #2 have nice views, while the other two face the back. I’d absolutely recommend spending a night or two at Snowpeak. The spa is AMAZING, with lovely indoor and outdoor onsens and awesome views. Tattoos are allowed during limited hours, 9-10 at night and 7-9 in the morning. The food at Snow Peak eat is really good and fairly priced. We had a few meals there, and dinner at the restaurant was so worth it. Everything was really good!

I only went for the day spa. It was a bit pricey, but the well-kept, clean facilities and the onsen and sauna made up for it. If you’re into the snowpeak brand, there are plenty of surprises. The sauna was my highlight, with a great view of the snowy mountains and a herbal scent. The food at "Snow Peak Eat" (not the restaurant) was amazing, with delicious dishes, good local beer, and a grand view while eating. Remember to check the shop for SPA limited items!
