Getting around was easy once we left the hotel. The outlet park is about a five-minute walk away, and shoppers might want to bring an extra suitcase. Costco is also close, which was handy for me as a foreigner with the card. zozo stadium is within walking distance too, though sadly the marines had no home game while we were there. The entrance looks grand, with high-end cars parked outside, but we were disappointed to learn the amenities cost extra because they’re a “club exclusive” feature. If we’d known, we wouldn’t have paid to stay here. The air conditioner was another problem. We’re used to cooler weather and expected it to hold the temperature we set, but the room stayed at an unpleasant 23 degrees Celsius. Staff said it was working when we asked them to check. It only dropped to 20 the day before we left. With bug bites, the nights were unbearable. They also delivered English print newspapers every day, which surprised me. I’m not sure who reads physical papers these days.

I was glad I chose Makuhari and the New Otani while my friends stayed in Chiba city. The room was clean and had loads of space, the staff were amazing, and the breakfast buffet was incredible. Really beautiful hotel. I’d definitely come back.
10/10
The rooms were clean and comfortable, and breakfast had a nice range of options. Staff were very friendly too. It’s close to JR kaihin makuhari station, with 3 exits, so getting in and out is easy.
10/10
It’s a clean, comfortable place with friendly staff, good food, and solid facilities. I stayed for a visit to the Messe, and it worked really well. The outlets, restaurants, and bars are nearby too. Joining “Club & Club” gives you discounted access to the sports facilities and food.
8/10
The buffet breakfast is the main reason I’d come back. It was amazing, and the staff were friendly and efficient. The rooms are very clean, but they look straight out of the 90s and need an update. Using the pool or gym costs extra. There’s a convenience store across the street, along with the mall. The beach is a short walk away, and there’s a beautiful Japanese park next door.
