Hotel Togariishi

I was here for work for three nights and loved the stay. The room was roomy, very clean, and had comfortable beds, so I felt rested for work. The person who welcomed us at reception was really nice, too. There was a water fountain and a coffee machine, which was handy. I’ll definitely come back next time work brings me to the area.

The room was spacious and immaculate, with two double beds and a sofa bed. I slept better than I ever have, thanks to the pillow options: a regular one on the bed and three Tencel pillows in different sizes on the sofa bed. There’s also a mini kitchen, plus a drum-style washer tucked into a cubby across from the rooms. I didn’t even notice the kitchen until I needed the washer. The owner was kind and polite. I assumed he didn’t speak English, but then I got a lovely reply in English and realized his English is very good. I’m writing this in English to help other foreigners find a quiet, nice place to stay. It was a real bargain. It’s about 8 km from Suwa, rather than in town, just off the main highway. There are plenty of restaurants, shopping, and sightseeing nearby, including three restaurants within walking distance and a Lawson convenience store.

The proprietor was friendly, and my room was spotless and in perfect, updated shape. Highly recommend it!

The entrance is narrow, but the inside is superb.
