Shota I.
The lake setting is lovely, and the goats do a great job keeping the lawn trimmed. The hotel itself is a big old place that's past its best. The rooms have been modernized, probably the most noticeable upgrade. The buffet was disappointing. The steak tasted good, but they reduced the serving size because they were "busy," and there was no crab even though it was supposed to be available. The shrimp and mozzarella salads were good, but the rest of the dishes fell short of what I expect from a hotel buffet. Breakfast sandwiches were nice, with a bit more choice in the morning. About 80% of the game room wasn't working, and the shop had limited stock. My wife likes onsen, but she came back disappointed.
