Friendly guesthouse with lots of rooms and a comfortable common area. The kitchen was unavailable because of the pandemic, but there were toasters, microwaves, and a hot and cold water dispenser. Our room had a TV, and we watched some Olympic events. Breakfast is available by request for 800 yen. The bathtub is open 24 hours and big enough for the family to get in together.
This place just wasn’t for me, and I won’t come back or recommend it to anyone with a certain standard of hygiene. It didn’t seem very clean overall. The dining room smelled really bad, so I’d avoid it if possible. The shared bath floor was slippery, and the tub wasn’t clean either. The Wi-Fi was too weak to use. There was no 4G connection where it’s located, so getting online was a problem. It’s very cheap, and I can see how it might suit people who like it, but it isn’t somewhere I’d go out of my way to stay.
The meals were delicious, both breakfast and dinner, and my daughter especially loved the orange juice. Everyone was so considerate and made our stay comfortable. The husband had a wonderful personality, and Lara was so friendly. I’d love to come back and see them again.
I was in the area for sightseeing and stayed at this inn, but the condition of the place was awful. The front door didn’t fit properly, the ceiling was leaking from the floor above, and the floor tiles and doorknobs were sticky and disgusting. It looked as if regular cleaning wasn’t happening. There were signs of neglect and rubbish throughout the room, and the smell was everywhere. The dining room smelled of food waste and cat urine, so eating there was impossible. The owner seemed concerned, but when I brought it up, he just moved the cat. I hadn’t ordered food ahead, so I was given curry. I went to the dining room 30 minutes before dinner, but there was no smell of curry. I checked the pots and saw only one hot pot on the table. The next morning the table still hadn’t been wiped and was very dusty. I left at 6 am the following morning.
The dining room’s cat pee smell was really bothersome, just as other reviews mentioned. Having to eat both dinner and breakfast there put me off, though I did eat there. The room, bathroom, and other facilities weren’t as bad as the reviews made them sound. For the price and the age of the building, I thought the condition was reasonable. Without that smell, I’d say it’s good value.
