Chitose Daiichi Hotel

The stay was very good, with a clean room that looked new and had all the amenities I needed. My one wish is that the free airport shuttle ran throughout the day. Sadly, it stops at 10am.

The price was very reasonable, and I’d stay here again next time I’m in Chitose. There are a few steps at the entrance and no wheelchair ramp, so getting my luggage inside was a bit of a hassle. The staff were friendly, and the small, dated room was spotless and came with some snacks. I did wish there were a luggage rack. They offer a morning airport shuttle. If it doesn’t run at the time you need, it’s an eight-minute walk to the JR station, followed by a five-minute train ride. Trains run more often. I stayed here for one night before my flight.

The location works well, within walking distance of JR chitose station and just two stops from the airport. The room is small even for a business hotel, a bit old, and acceptably clean. Front desk service was about what I’d expect from this kind of hotel. One warning for winter: the road outside gets slippery. They don’t clear the ice or put down salt, and I took a HARD fall walking out 😢

The smoking room was a small downside, but the good points outweighed it. Daichi Chitose Hotel is affordable, convenient, and has excellent service and a prime location. I had a satisfying four-night stay there during a winter vacation in Hokkaido, and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Hokkaido.
