Portom International Hokkaido

The room was in great condition, and I'll stay here again next year for my ski trip. I do wish the public bath had more items, like wash towels, face lotion since there's only moisturizer now, and hair oil. The sauna also gets very hot, and the towels on the floor and bench become extremely hot too. A different kind of towel might work better there.

The Portom Hotel is right inside the international terminal at New Chitose Airport. The rooms are spacious, with runway views through well insulated, soundproof windows. Breakfast is served in the lobby, though I wonder if there's enough room for everyone if all the guests come down at once. Priority Pass cardholders can also get sandwiches and drinks in the lounge.

After a long haul flight, this was a great place to stretch out before heading for the gateway to Japow. The rooms are large, quiet, and state of the art. Since it's in the airport, it was easy to find after a red eye, and there's a small metropolis of food courts, restaurants, and shops about a 10 minute walk away for a bite or a souvenir.

My guests only stayed one night, but they were treated so well. The rooms were quiet, elegant, and free of dust. They were especially thankful to the front desk team for arranging a long distance taxi at the last minute and making an extra effort to handle their requests. They had a great time and can't wait to come back.
