Fuchu Dai-ichi Hotel

The building is old, but everything was clean, the air-conditioning worked well, and I slept comfortably when I came back home. I liked the little retro touches: you use a key, then turn the lock inside the room to switch on the power, and the air-conditioning has a dial. Even the glasses stood out, with a nice weight and smooth feel. Looking up the logo, they seem to be VIGOLASS, previously made by HOYA, known for its lenses. The bed was comfortable too, so maybe they put a lot of thought into the products.

The staff handled a fast-talking passenger who sounded Indian with real sincerity. It was a great example of customer service. There were also some mysterious noises late at night, which added to the charm.

Whenever I have a drinking party in Fuchu, I sometimes stay here. It’s a clean, comfortable hotel.

I booked at the last minute for around 6,000 yen, since I had business in Fuchu the next morning. It’s close to both the station and a convenience store, and the facilities were fine. This seems to be the only business hotel in the area, and the Showa-era building gives it a slightly retro feel. My air-conditioned room was airtight and cooled well, and I had a great view of the mountains. I was very comfortable there.
