HOTEL Rakuserina

A strange noise from the bathroom exhaust fan led me to ask for a room change, but the same noise was there again. I then asked to cancel the room, and they insisted that wasn't possible. The foreign woman helping me asked, "Would you like to speak to the president yourself in Japanese?" I was shocked when they said they couldn't accept a cancellation because I had already checked in. In the end, I paid the fee, found another hotel, and stayed there.

I picked this hotel because it was cheap. The room itself was just right in size, and both the bathtub and toilet were perfect. But the floor under the sink is rotten and gives way when you step on it. The water also drains poorly, probably because the pipes are clogged.

The rooms are dark, and the building has the feel of an old love hotel. Still, at 5,000 yen for a room, it seemed like a bargain.

For 9,000 yen, I got a spacious room and a roomy bathroom, but there was no view. The whole hotel feels dim. Check-out was simple: just drop the key in the mailbox. It seemed to have quite a few guests. I imagine the place would feel quite different with air conditioning and brighter lighting. I don't want to be too harsh.
