The staff were commendable and the place was generally clean, but the management and cheap upkeep were a real problem. The room felt old, and the beds were stiff. When we checked in during the evening, we were told we couldn't have breakfast or dinner because of “food shortages / preparation,” since we had booked the night before. Then we walked past the hotel restaurant and saw other guests laughing and eating. That was completely unacceptable. We hadn't received an email or any notice about the food issue beforehand, and there was no compensation. Do better.

It's peaceful and has a nice view of Mount Fuji, but the hotel isn't in a convenient spot and you'd need a car to get there. The service was very nice, and our room was spacious and clean. Some parts of the building looked worn and old, like the carpet and walls.

I originally chose this older hotel because it was conveniently located for golf nearby. I ended up being really impressed by the view of Mt.Fuji, the comfortable room and large bathroom, and the super friendly staff. The service was thoughtful and the meals were very delicious. A classic hotel, recommended.
