Fujinoya

We booked a room for one night while visiting Mount Fuji, and it was well worth the money. If you get lucky, you can see Mount Fuji right from the window. Such a nice stay.

We paid Rp.1.933.891 for three people with breakfast. The free shuttle to and from the train station was a bonus, and the service was excellent. Issuru was really friendly and helpful, and drove us to the station. We stayed in a room with futon beds and tatami mats, and the view of Fuji mountain from our window was perfect. The shared bathroom in a separate building was a new experience for us. The facilities are limited for a 3-star hotel, but we were happy and had no complaints. We could also do our laundry and use the dryer for free.

There’s a free billiard table and table tennis, and the Chinese staff were nice enough to drive us to the station, about 3kms away. The supermarket is a bit of a walk uphill. You can rent bikes near the station and ride to lakeside spots like Music Forest and Oishii Park. The shop will pick up your bike from the hotel when you leave. The place is very Japanese, with no chairs or tables, just floor-level seating. That’s not ideal if your knees hurt. The shared bathroom has a hot bath and plastic stools where you sit to wash.

The rooms are large and have their own toilets, and the shared traditional showers and baths were never crowded. After a day in the chilly wind, the warm onsen was great. It’s an affordable place with lovely views of mt Fuji, though it’s a bit of a walk to the station and places to eat. A great local experience.
